SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Page LeRoy Bellinger of Rock Island, who passed away on January 3, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Page Bellinger was born to David and Dorothy (Johnson) Bellinger in Rosebush, Michigan on September 28, 1930; he was raised on the family farm; he served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953, including completing six months of sea duty on the USCGC Campbell; he earned his master's degree in agricultural engineering from Michigan State University; and

WHEREAS, Page Bellinger's career included serving as engineering editor for Successful Farming, technical coordinator for the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, and product safety engineer for Deere & Company, where he retired as manager of product safety and engineering standards in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Page Bellinger volunteered for various causes, and he was especially committed to causes promoting literacy; and

WHEREAS, Page Bellinger enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacationing in Wisconsin, visiting with anyone he met, taking fishing trips with friends, coaching, grilling, writing, eating Whitey's ice cream, sharing a chuckle, and watching sunsets; he thoroughly enjoyed music and listened to it daily; he played the guitar, the piano, and the accordion and could often be heard whistling, singing, or humming; and

WHEREAS, Page Bellinger was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Blackman; his brother, Harland Bellinger; and his son, Brad Bellinger; and

WHEREAS, Page Bellinger is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sandra; his son, Todd (Jennifer) Bellinger; his daughter-in-law's sons, Anthony, Dominic, and Matthew; his grandchildren, Kyle (Laura) Bellinger and Kiana (Sean) Dickson; his great-granddaughter, Olivia Dickson; his daughter, Kara (Neal) Blanche; his nephew and niece, Bruce (Sandy) Schrock and Marcia Collins; his cousins, Cheryl (Skip) Malin, Nina Stilgenbauer, Sunny Sjaarda, Bonnie Pierce, and Orriene (Stuart) Denslow; and many other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Page LeRoy Bellinger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Page Bellinger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
