SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bryce Lee Richardson of Havana, who passed away on October 30, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Bryce Richardson was born to Douglas and Sheryl Richardson in Springfield on June 11, 1986; he was a lifelong resident of the Havana area; he attended New Central Elementary School and Havana Junior High School High before graduating from Havana High School in 2004; he attended Spoon River College; he became a father of twin girls, Brylee and Brystol, in 2010; and

WHEREAS, Bryce Richardson served in the U.S. Navy while aboard the U.S.S. Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier; he later worked as an over the road trucker; and

WHEREAS, Bryce Richardson enjoyed spending time with his daughters, his friends, Patrick, Joey, and Billy, and his dog, Brutus, who often accompanied him on long hauls in the semi; and

WHEREAS, Bryce Richardson was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul "Chuck" Richardson and James Lance; his step-grandparents, Roy and Virginia Ryder; and his beagle, Brutus; and

WHEREAS, Bryce Richardson is survived by his twin daughters, Brystol Susan and Brylee Sharon Richardson; his grandmothers, Sharon (Graham) Lance and Susan (Towery) Richardson; his parents, Sheryl Richardson and Douglas and Julie Richardson; his brothers, Bradley Douglas Richardson, Brock Andrew (Lindsay) Richardson, and Brendon Lafe (Sam) Ryder Richardson; his aunts, Jan Michaels, Cindy Lance, and Robin Hannum; his nieces, Brooklyn, Brianna, Briella, and Dulcie Richardson; and his nephews, Brent and Braxton Richardson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bryce Lee Richardson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bryce Richardson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
