SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Willie Earl Wear Jr. of Rock Island,
4who passed away on September 26, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Wear was born to Willie Earl Sr. and Audrey
6Peterson Wear in Quincy on September 11, 1932; he served in the
7U.S. Army; he earned his master's degree in biology from
8Western Illinois University; he married Catherine Talbot
9Heeschen in Homewood on August 9, 1958; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Earl Wear taught science at Moline High School,
11retiring in 1992; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Earl Wear was a member of Grace Church, formerly
13Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, in Rock Island; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Earl Wear adored his family; he also enjoyed
15square dancing, playing cards, bowling, and traveling; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Earl Wear was preceded in death by his parents
17and his sisters, Norma Huss, Lila Kerr, and Mary Catherine
18Warren; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Earl Wear is survived by his wife; his children,

1Rebecca Lynn (Brian) Clarkin, Brenda Jean Bertrand, and
2William Richard (Beth) Wear; his grandchildren, Jeremy,
3Michael, Meghan, Nicolas, Matthieu, Rebecca, Jessica, Daniel,
4and Patrick; 16 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ruth
5Eileen (Roy) Baker; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Willie Earl Wear Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Earl Wear as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
