SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clarence Franklin "Frank" Meredith of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Sherman, who passed away on August 6, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Frank Meredith was born in Pana on July 31, 1941; he served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years; he married Deborah Shroyer in April 2006; and

WHEREAS, Frank Meredith retired from the State of Illinois after 24 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Frank Meredith served as the Mayor of the Village of Sherman from 1987 to 2007; he also served as president of the Illinois Municipal League from 2000 to 2001; and

WHEREAS, Frank Meredith was preceded in death by his best friend and shih tzu, Max; and

WHEREAS, Frank Meredith is survived by his wife, Deborah Meredith; his daughter, Kristin (Chris) Fulscher; his son, Brian (Melis) Meredith-Evans; his stepsons, Arik (Nicole) and Andrew (Stephanie) Smith; his grandchildren, Carson (Courtney), Cameron, Adam, Maddox, Sadie, Jaxon, Ty, and Olivia Smith, Ryder Williams, and Erin Akin; and his great-granddaughter, Elleree Smith; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clarence Franklin "Frank" Meredith and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Meredith as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
