HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jamie Yates on the occasion of his retirement as principal of Farmingdale Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates has served as principal of Farmingdale Elementary School for the past 19 years; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates was raised in Mt. Vernon, graduating from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1986; he received his Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1990; he earned his Master of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield in 1996; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates began his teaching career at Pleasant Plains High School in 1991, where he taught and coached for five years; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates then served as a guidance counselor and coach at Williamsville-Sherman Community Unit School District #15 for four years, beginning in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates returned to Pleasant Plains Community Unit School District #8 in 2000, serving as a guidance counselor for three years until he was hired as assistant principal at Pleasant Plains High School; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates became principal of Farmingdale Elementary School starting in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Jamie Yates is the husband of Joni, and they are the proud parents of five children, Emily, Marybeth, Johnnie, Ellie, and Mollie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jamie Yates on his retirement as principal of Farmingdale Elementary School, and we wish him success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jamie Yates as an expression of our esteem and respect.
