SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

625 ILCS 5/3-415.1 new

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that, upon registration of an electric vehicle, the Secretary of State shall issue a decal that distinguishes it from non-electric vehicles. Requires the owner of the electric vehicle to display the decal at the rear of the electric vehicle in a manner prescribed by the Secretary.

AN ACT concerning transportation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding Section 3-415.1 as follows:

(625 ILCS 5/3-415.1 new)

Sec. 3-415.1. Electric vehicle decals. Upon registration of an electric vehicle subject to Section 3-402, the Secretary of State shall issue a decal that distinguishes it from non-electric vehicles. The owner of the electric vehicle must display the decal at the rear of the electric vehicle in a manner prescribed by the Secretary.
