SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Marvin L. Rursch of Edgington, who
4passed away on April 7, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch was born in Rock Island County to
6Addison and Edith Johnston Rursch on September 3, 1935; he
7graduated from Reynolds High School in 1953 and honorably
8served in the U.S. Army; he married Denise Stone in Edgington
9on June 7, 1964; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch joined the Country Companies
11family, later known as Country Financial, in 1961; he earned
12his CFP designation and focused on investment and retirement
13planning and mentoring others during his 47 years; he was
14passionate about protecting families and their livelihoods,
15and he always put his customers first in prioritizing their
16insurance needs; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch took great pride in raising
18Simmental Cattle; he enjoyed building quality pedigrees and
19exhibiting these cattle around the country with his children;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch was a lifelong member of Edgington

1Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he had served on many
2committees; his faith and his family were central to his life;
3he enjoyed following Rockridge sports and was an avid fan of
4the Chicago Cubs and the Illini; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch was preceded in death by his
6parents; his siblings, Duane Rursch, Lois Rursch Anderson,
7Orville Rursch, Clair Rursch, Donald Rursch, and John Robert
8"J.R." Rursch; and his niece, Lara Grossman; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marvin Rursch is survived by his wife of 57
10years, Denise; his son, Marty Rursch; his daughter and
11son-in-law, Michele and Eric Weinert; his step-grandchildren,
12Cole (Sarah Hunter) Weinert, Lane (Hadley) Weinert, Sawyer
13Weinert, and Kamden Weinert; and numerous nieces and nephews
14and their families; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Marvin L. Rursch and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Marvin Rursch as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
