SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ralph E. Dixon of Moline, who passed
4away on March 30, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon was born to Francis and Rufas Dixon
6in Louisville, Kentucky on August 4, 1935; he graduated from
7the University of Oklahoma; he served in the U.S. Army from
81951 to 1964; he married Margot Riedel, and they had one son,
9Duane B. Dixon; he married Christie (Dow) Bagge in Crystal
10River, Florida on January 12, 1998; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon retired from the U.S. Army Armament
12and Chemical Command after 35 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, In retirement, Ralph Dixon enjoyed spending
14winters fishing in Florida; he spent many years at his cabin at
15Roberts Park in Keosauqua, Iowa, where he enjoyed spending
16treasured time with his son and family, as well as fishing,
17playing cards with his friends, and stretching the truth at
18"The Vets"; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon was preceded in death by his parents;
20his wife, Margot; his sister, Nancy Luckett; and his brothers,
21Donald, John, and Leonard Dixon; and

1    WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon is survived by his wife, Christie;
2his son, Duane Dixon; his brother, Robert Dixon; his
3granddaughters, Karla Eaton (Ronny), Angela Barrett (Terry),
4and Andrea Ryckeghem (Josh); his nieces and nephews; and his
5great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Ralph E. Dixon and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ralph Dixon as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
