SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lawrence T. "Larry" Moorman of Channahon, who passed away on January 24, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Larry Moorman was born in Joliet to Wilbur A. and Agnes V. (Van Duyne) Moorman on April 10, 1937; he was the oldest of 65 grandchildren of the Van Duyne family; and

WHEREAS, Larry Moorman was the developer of Spring Brook Estates in Channahon and a longtime part owner of Rittof's Hardware in Channahon; and

WHEREAS, Larry Moorman was a member of Carpenters Local #174 for over 50 years; he was a talented and skilled wood worker who milled his own lumber; he enjoyed his small animal farm and was a longtime member of the "Coffee Club", which included Bob, George, Ron, Juno, Jim, Bud, and the late Art; he will be lovingly remembered as everyone's "Project Engineer"; and

WHEREAS, Larry Moorman was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Louie Moorman; and his sister, Nancy M. Moorman; and

WHEREAS, Larry Moorman was the beloved husband of 59 years of Janet M. (Rittof) Moorman; the proud father of Robert A. (Jody) Moorman, Missey Moorman-Schumacher, Joseph J. (Lori) Moorman, and the late Lawrence S. "Louie" Moorman; the loving and cherished grandfather of Aubry (Eli) White, Andrew Moorman, Brock Hermann, Chase Hermann, Bradley Schumacher, and J. Schumacher; and the dearest great-grandfather of Callen White, Isabel White, Olivia White, and McKenzie Sobota-Hermann; also left to cherish his memory are his dear nephews, Steve III (Stacy) and Matthew (Erin) Rittof and his brother-in-law, Steve (Cathy) Rittof; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lawrence T. "Larry" Moorman and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Moorman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
