SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John L. Angel of East Moline, who passed away on January 12, 2022; and

WHEREAS, John Angel was born in Moline to Adolph and Emma (Roscoe) Angel on June 20, 1930; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for four years; he married Jacqueline Hanneman at St. Mary's Church in Hampton on September 24, 1955; and

WHEREAS, John Angel retired from John Deere Harvester after 38 years of service as a tool and die maker; and

WHEREAS, John Angel was an outdoorsman and loved everything to do with nature; he especially enjoyed bow hunting for deer with Mike and golfing with his grandsons; he was a jack of all trades and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; and

WHEREAS, John Angel was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline; his parents; his stepfather, Sid Bosoluke; and his son, John Angel; and

WHEREAS, John Angel is survived by his son, Mike (Kim) Angel; his daughter-in-law, Faith Angel; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Theresa) Angel, Jacob Angel, Heather (Keith) Scrowther, and Barbie Angel; and his great-grandchildren, Liv, Justin, Camilla, and Henry; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John L. Angel and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Angel as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
