SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E. Tanghe of East Moline, who passed away on November 19, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe was born to Peter and Germaine (VanHecke) Tanghe in Moline on December 8, 1931; he received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the former Iowa State College; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married JoAnn Redecker at St. Mary's Church in Rock Island on October 31, 1959; and

WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe worked at Eagle Signal for over 30 years; he later retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe was a member of St. Mary's Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed gardening, home improvement projects, and model airplanes; alongside his wife, he enjoyed traveling during retirement, including taking cruises to many different destinations; and

WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe was preceded in death by his parents; his sister and his brother-in-law, Marie and Don Lannoo; his granddaughter, Kayla DiIulio; and his great-grandson, Noah Papish; and

WHEREAS, Robert Tanghe is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his children, Lisa (Joe) DiIulio, Julie (Brian) Bausch, Carol (Mike) Cutkomp, and Paul Tanghe; his grandchildren, Joey (Jamie) DiIulio, Tom (Brooke) DiIulio, Krista (Damian) Papish, Grace Copen-DiIulio, Alex Bausch, Amber Bausch, Jeff (Sara) Cutkomp, Dan (Emily) Cutkomp, Peyton Tanghe, and Megan Tanghe; and his 12 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert E. Tanghe and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Tanghe as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
