SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mary L. Van Norman of Peoria, who
4passed away on October 5, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Van Norman was born to Donald E. and Lucille
6(Dunne) Rogy in Peoria on May 11, 1944; she graduated from the
7Academy of Our Lady in 1962 and remained close with a group of
8friends who continued getting together to attend Mass or
9celebrate birthdays for over 60 years; she married Dick Van
10Norman on September 28, 1963; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mary Norman started Kidsmobile Child
12Transportation Service before opening Mary's Little Lambs
13In-Home Daycare, which she lovingly operated for 22 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Van Norman was a member of St. Thomas the
15Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights; she was also a
16longtime season ticket holder of Bradley University's Men's
17Basketball and a member of the Braves Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Norman was an active and supportive mother
19and was very close with her children; she was an avid gardener
20and was known for her delicious baking talents, especially her
21pies and pumpkin bread; and

1    WHEREAS, Mary Van Norman was preceded in death by her
2parents; her brothers, Gene, Dick, and Tom Rogy; and her
3sisters, Kathy Armato and Julie Linne; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mary Van Norman is survived by her husband of 58
5years, Dick; her daughter, Lynn Van Norman; her son, Rich
6(Kellie) Van Norman; her grandchildren, Olivia, Isabella, and
7Alex Van Norman; her sister, Sue (RB) Brenenstall; and her 22
8nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Mary L. Van Norman and extend our sincere condolences to her
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mary Van Norman as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
