SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Cameron "Cam" Alexander Harris, who passed away on June 28, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Cam Harris was born to Kenneth Sr. and Rose Harris in Hinsdale on October 25, 1998; he attended Ridgewood Baptist Academy in Joliet and Jane Addams Middle School in Bolingbrook; he graduated from Bolingbrook High School in 2017; following high school, he attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa and the University of Illinois at Chicago; he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2018 and was currently serving active duty in the U.S. Air Force National Guard 132d Wing in Des Moines, Iowa; he was preparing to resume his college academics at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa in the fall of 2021; and

WHEREAS, Cameron Harris was a man of strong faith who was intelligent and very resourceful; he was kind and a loyal friend yet firm and very independent; he loved family gatherings and enjoyed spending time with family and friends; he also loved watching movies and playing video games, especially online gaming with a group of friends from school; and

WHEREAS, Cam Harris was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Cam Harris is survived by his parents; his brothers, Kenneth Jr. and Carson; his maternal grandmother, Patricia Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Sam and Velma Harris; his aunts, Cheryl (Derrick) Gordon, Carolyn (Lester) Barnes, Stephanie Harris, and Latina Harris; his uncles, Charles (Janet) Harris, Clifton Harris, and Anthony Harris; his cousins; and his friends who were also part of his family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Cameron "Cam" Alexander Harris and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cam Harris as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
