SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lester L. Moyer of Rock Island, who passed away on July 13, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Lester Moyer was born to William and Inice (Long) Moyer in Rock Island on April 5, 1945; he served his country and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1966; and

WHEREAS, Lester Moyer worked for the State of Illinois at the National Guard in Milan; and

WHEREAS, Lester Moyer enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and very much loved his country and his service; and

WHEREAS, Lester Moyer was preceded in death by his parents; his three sisters; and his four brothers; and

WHEREAS, Lester Moyer is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his daughters, Dorothy Abernathy and Mary Solberg; his sons, Billy Moyer and Michael Moyer; his four stepchildren; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Inez Talbot, Judy Canady, Elsie Moyer, and Donna Sierra; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lester L. Moyer and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him;; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lester Moyer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
