SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thecla M. Keenan of Peoria, who passed
4away on June 21, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan was born in LaSalle to Frederick
6and Thecla (Brida) Aaron on November 7, 1931; she married
7William H. Keenan at St. Mary's Cathedral in Peoria on October
816, 1954; she earned her Registered Nurse certification; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan worked as a surgical nurse at OSF
10St. Francis Medical Center for 44 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan was a member of St. Bernard's
12Catholic Church in Peoria; she loved golfing at Timberlake
13Club of Peoria; she crocheted countless infant blankets for
14the OSF Children's Hospital; she enjoyed spending time with
15her family and shopping with her cousin, Helen Gallagher; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan was preceded in death by her
17daughters, Theresa Simmons and Kathleen Wukitsch, and her
18brothers, Joseph Aaron and Thomas Aaron; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Thecla Keenan is survived by her husband of over
2066 years, William H. Keenan; her sons, Tim (Lesley) Keenan and

1Paul (Kim) Keenan; her brothers, Paul (Carol) Aaron and Alan
2(Judy) Aaron; her sister-in-law, Marcia Aaron; her
3grandchildren, Erin, TJ, Jeremy, Thomas, and Mary; and her
4great-grandson, Aaron; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Thecla M. Keenan and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Thecla Keenan as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
