SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Danny "Dan" Lee Jackson of Moline, who passed away on June 3, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was born to Robert and Shirley (DeVrieze) Jackson in Rock Island on October 20, 1947; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married Elinor M. Briggs; he later married Cheryl (Hessler) Hamilton in Orion on August 8, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was an accomplished engineer with Deere & Company; he retired in 2000 after more than 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was a man of faith who enjoyed fishing and golfing; he was a talented handyman who enjoyed fixing things around the house; and

WHEREAS, Dan Jackson was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elinor; his siblings, Robert, Karol, and Gary Jackson; and his twin grandsons, Danny III and Zachary; and

WHEREAS, Dan Jackson is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl; his son, Danny L. (Stacey) Jackson Jr.; his two stepchildren, Christopher (LeeAnn) Hamilton and Megan (fiancé Adam Cortez) Hamilton; his grandchildren, Ashley, Tommy, Danny IV, Joey, Stacey, and Danielle Jackson and Gavin and Madeline Hamilton; his three great-grandchildren; his several nieces and nephews; and his cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Danny "Dan" Lee Jackson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dan Jackson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
