SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lawrence H. "Larry" Hinzman of Rock
4Island, who passed away on June 1, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was born in Cincinnati to Lawrence
6G. and Hilda (Doeger) Hinzman on March 16, 1926; he served in
7the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Anne Bednar in
8Latonia, Kentucky on May 28, 1949, and she preceded him in
9death on May 4, 2015; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was an inspector at the Rock Island
11Arsenal, and he retired in 1981, after 32 years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was a member of St. Pius X Catholic
13Church in Rock Island, the Davenport Chordbusters Barbershop
14Chorus, the Bend of the River Barbershop Chorus, VFW Post
151303, the Milan American Legion Post 569, and Allouez Council
16658 of the Knights of Columbus; he was also a ham radio
17operator with the call sign WG9X; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman was preceded in death by his
19parents; his wife, Anne; his sons, Lawrence J. Hinzman and Tom
20Hinzman; his great-grandson, Wyatt; and one sister and two
21brothers; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Hinzman is survived by his daughter and
2son-in-law, Mary Anne and Steve Goodell; his grandchildren,
3Brad Hinzman, Kevin Pauletti, April (Josh) Dubay, Dr. Justin
4(Laura) Hinzman, Ryan (Shayla) Hinzman, Erica DePape, Matt
5(Andrea) Goodell, and Erinne (Kurt Paulsen) Goodell; and nine
6great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Lawrence H. "Larry" Hinzman and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Larry Hinzman as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
