SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kathleen "Kay" Subaitis, who passed away on October 2, 2020 at the age of 85; and

WHEREAS, Kay Subaitis was born on September 13, 1935; and

WHEREAS, Kay Subaitis graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst in 1953; and

WHEREAS, Kay Subaitis was a longtime administrative assistant at the District 97 Oak Park Public Elementary School central office; and

WHEREAS, Kay Subaitis was a decades-long board member of the North Riverside Public Library and the Friends of the Library; and

WHEREAS, Kay Subaitis was preceded in death by her parents, Francis R. and Florence Solomon, and her brother, Frank (Joyce) Shannon; and

WHEREAS, Kay Subaitis is survived by her children, Rick, Cathy (Earl) Briggs, and Dan (Judy); her grandchildren, Shannon Briggs and Danielle, Alexandra, Hannah, and Cole Subaitis; her nieces and nephews; and her former spouse, Richard W. Subaitis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kathleen "Kay" Subaitis and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kay Subaitis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
