SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard E. Trevarthan of Frankfort, who passed away on February 22, 2021 at the age of 83; and

WHEREAS, Richard Trevarthan was a graduate of Purdue University, a veteran of the United States Army, an avid golfer, a longtime Trustee for the Village of Frankfort, and a superintendent for over 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Trevarthan was the owner of Trevarthan Landscaping, which granted him the opportunity to have an instrumental role in the development of the Prestwick Country Club golf course; and

WHEREAS, Richard Trevarthan was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Jones Trevarthan; and

WHEREAS, Richard Trevarthan is survived by his children, Jeanne (Joe) Hartung, Richard "Bob" Trevarthan, David (Connie) Trevarthan, and Michael (Sherry) Trevarthan; his siblings, Coranne (Dennis) Smitley, Elaine (Michael) Arnold, and Pam (Doug) Couch; his grandchildren, Kyle Hartung, Alex Hartung, Matthew Trevarthan, Daniel Trevarthan, Grant Trevarthan, and Megan Trevarthan; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard E. Trevarthan and send our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and to all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to the family of Richard E. Trevarthan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
