SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul R. Johnson of Rock Island, who passed away on November 10, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Paul Johnson was born to Robert and Alberta (Wolfe) Johnson in Rock Island on August 11, 1941; he married Grace J. Pauwels on January 30, 1965; he served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Paul Johnson worked at Illinois Bell and retired in 1999 after 30 years of service; he later worked at the Hot Spot Pharmacy in Davenport; and

WHEREAS, Paul Johnson was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, the Knights of Columbus, the Allouez Council 3rd Degree, Rock Island, Moline American Legion Post 246, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and the ATT Telephone Pioneer Club; and

WHEREAS, Paul Johnson enjoyed fishing and woodcarving; and

WHEREAS, Paul Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; his son, Joseph; his granddaughter, Anna Marie; and his sisters, Rosann and Lavona; and

WHEREAS, Paul Johnson is survived by his children, Christine (Keith) Ogden and Robert (Jodi) Johnson; his grandchildren, Ashley, Alex, Jessica, Stefanie, Anthony, Jennifer, and Andrew; and his five great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul R. Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Johnson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
