SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kenneth L. Guldenpfennig of Moline,
4who passed away on October 19, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was born to Clarence and
6Gladys Jacobs Guldenpfennig in Moline on January 30, 1928; he
7graduated from Moline High School; he served in the U.S. Navy
8during World War II, where he received the World War II Victory
9Medal; he married Dianne at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in
10Moline on December 9, 1966; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was the manager of the
12Moline Building Center for many years; he and his wife owned
13and operated the Pleasant Ridge Resort and Maplewood Resort,
14both in Minnesota; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was a member of Holy Cross
16Lutheran Church, where he previously served as an elder; he
17was past president of the Moline Kiwanis Club and was a member
18of numerous other clubs, including the East End Club and The
19Club (Travel); and
 
20    WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig enjoyed golfing, playing
21rolle bolle, traveling, and painting; his favorite memories

1included spending time at his fishing resorts and with his
2family and his friends; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was preceded in death by
4his parents and a granddaughter; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig is survived by his wife,
6Dianne Guldenpfennig; his children, Vicki (Kevin) Roukey,
7Craig "Pete" (Ruth) Guldenpfennig, Dawn (Jeff) Woodworth, and
8Traci (Darryl) Devries; his eight grandchildren; his 14
9great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his
10sister, Joan Ritze; his several nieces and nephews; and his
11many other close friends; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Kenneth L. Guldenpfennig and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Kenneth Guldenpfennig as an
19expression of our deepest sympathy.
