SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth L. Guldenpfennig of Moline, who passed away on October 19, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was born to Clarence and Gladys Jacobs Guldenpfennig in Moline on January 30, 1928; he graduated from Moline High School; he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he received the World War II Victory Medal; he married Dianne at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline on December 9, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was the manager of the Moline Building Center for many years; he and his wife owned and operated the Pleasant Ridge Resort and Maplewood Resort, both in Minnesota; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where he previously served as an elder; he was past president of the Moline Kiwanis Club and was a member of numerous other clubs, including the East End Club and The Club (Travel); and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig enjoyed golfing, playing rolle bolle, traveling, and painting; his favorite memories included spending time at his fishing resorts and with his family and his friends; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Guldenpfennig is survived by his wife, Dianne Guldenpfennig; his children, Vicki (Kevin) Roukey, Craig "Pete" (Ruth) Guldenpfennig, Dawn (Jeff) Woodworth, and Traci (Darryl) Devries; his eight grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren; his two great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Joan Ritze; his several nieces and nephews; and his many other close friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Kenneth L. Guldenpfennig and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Guldenpfennig as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
