SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John Robert "Bob" Grove of East
4Moline, who passed away on October 23, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Grove was born to John Harold and Lois
6(Moore) Grove in St. Louis, Missouri on July 6, 1931; he
7graduated from Millikin University in Decatur; he served in
8the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; he married Shirley
9D. Rambo in Decatur on March 26, 1955, and she preceded him in
10death on February 29, 2012; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Grove was an engineering professional who
12worked for AMETEK in Illinois and Pennsylvania; he later
13retired from H.C. Duke in East Moline; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bob Grove was a member of First Christian Church
15of East Moline for many decades, where he served in a variety
16of leadership roles; he was also a member of Kiwanis for over
1740 years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bob Grove enjoyed bowling in his younger years,
19traveling in his RV around the country with his wife,
20tinkering around his house and yard, and woodworking; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Grove was preceded in death by his wife; his
2daughter, Terri Grove; his brother, Richard Grove; his
3sister-in-law, Annette Grove; and his brother-in-law, Jim
4Stiner; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Grove is survived by his children, Tina Grove
6and Todd Grove; his many nieces and nephews; and his
7sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10John Robert "Bob" Grove and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Bob Grove as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
