SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Robert "Bob" Grove of East Moline, who passed away on October 23, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Bob Grove was born to John Harold and Lois (Moore) Grove in St. Louis, Missouri on July 6, 1931; he graduated from Millikin University in Decatur; he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; he married Shirley D. Rambo in Decatur on March 26, 1955, and she preceded him in death on February 29, 2012; and

WHEREAS, Bob Grove was an engineering professional who worked for AMETEK in Illinois and Pennsylvania; he later retired from H.C. Duke in East Moline; and

WHEREAS, Bob Grove was a member of First Christian Church of East Moline for many decades, where he served in a variety of leadership roles; he was also a member of Kiwanis for over 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Bob Grove enjoyed bowling in his younger years, traveling in his RV around the country with his wife, tinkering around his house and yard, and woodworking; and

WHEREAS, Bob Grove was preceded in death by his wife; his daughter, Terri Grove; his brother, Richard Grove; his sister-in-law, Annette Grove; and his brother-in-law, Jim Stiner; and

WHEREAS, Bob Grove is survived by his children, Tina Grove and Todd Grove; his many nieces and nephews; and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Robert "Bob" Grove and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Grove as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
