SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jerry Joseph Geiger of East Moline, who passed away on September 10, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger was born to Earl and Frances (Strother) Geiger in Rock Island on January 23, 1935; he married Betty M. Wiley in Rock Island on February 4, 1955; he served in the U.S. Air Force; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger was previously employed at John Deere, where he worked as an electrician; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, listening to country music, and playing the ukulele; he was a member of River City Church; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger was preceded in death by his son, Don; his sister, Patty; and a grandson; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Bob (Ping) Geiger; his daughter, Sheila (Jim) Heubach; his seven grandchildren; his 13 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Cathy (Gary) Wagner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jerry Joseph Geiger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry Geiger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
