SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Claude P. Sales of Orion, who passed away on June 9, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Claude Sales was born to Paul and Pansy "Pearl" (Matherly) Sales in Centerville, Iowa on May 1, 1934; he served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956; he married Marie Gerard in Ottumwa, Iowa on April 26, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Claude Sales worked as a machinist for Case IH in East Moline for 35 years, retiring on January 1, 1992; and

WHEREAS, Claude Sales enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and the outdoors; he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Claude Sales was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers; and

WHEREAS, Claude Sales is survived by his wife; his daughters, Claudia (Rusty) Olson, Lisa Sales-Timmer, and Tammy (David) Norberg; his nine grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Pauline Wignall; and his brothers, Ira Lee Sales, Larry (Donna) Sales, Billy (Judy) Sales, and Jim (Carol) Sales; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Claude P. Sales and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Claude Sales as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
