SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles D. "Chuck" Mockbee III of Danville, who passed away on February 23, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee was born on February 6, 1947; he grew up in the Jamesburg and Henning area; he graduated from the Bismarck-Henning High School; he attended Northern Illinois University; he earned his Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School; he became a member of the Illinois Bar in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee represented District 2 on the Vermilion County Board; he served as Blount township assessor and as a precinct committeemen; he previously spent many years as a member of the Bismarck-Henning School Board; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee attended CrossRoads Christian Church; he was a member of the Bismarck Lions Club; he enjoyed reading history, including his genealogy, and watching University of Illinois sports; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee will be greatly missed by his family, friends, clients, and the community he served; and

WHEREAS, Chuck Mockbee is survived by his wife, Peggy; his sons, Eric (Becky), Charles IV (Rebecca), and Matthew (Lacy) Mockbee; his grandsons, Connor, Colton, Jonah, and Matson; his brother, Ronald (Janet) Mockbee; and his sisters, Gloria Crippin and Janice Mockbee; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Charles D. "Chuck" Mockbee III and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Chuck Mockbee as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
