SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E. "Bud" Kaminke of Streator, formerly of Long Point, who passed away on June 26, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke was born to Russell and Lois (Pickett) Kaminke in Streator on February 21, 1933; he graduated from Long Point High School in 1952 and attended Millikin University in Decatur; he served as an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict; he married Carol Kimpling on August 19, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke retired from farming in the Long Point area after many years; and

WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke was a former member of the Long Point Volunteer Fire Department; he was a lifetime member of the Long Point Christian Church until its closing in December 2019; he was an avid bowler in several leagues at the Bowl Mor Lanes in Streator; he also enjoyed playing water volleyball at the Flanagan Memorial Pool; and

WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Metz; and

WHEREAS, Bud Kaminke is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughter, Susan (Dr. Arthur) Stern; his son, Thomas R. (Julie) Kaminke; his grandchildren, Jennifer Stern, Jeffery (Audra) Stern, James Stern, Carly Kaminke, and Connor (Allie) Kaminke; his brother-in-law, Sam (Sandi) Kimpling; his sister-in-law, Margaret Murray; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert E. "Bud" Kaminke and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bud Kaminke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
