SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Clarence Edward "Ed" Brummett of
4Jacksonville, who passed away on April 26, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was born to Milford Collier and
6Bertha Lee Brummett in Lynnville on July 17, 1924; he served as
7a sergeant in the Anti-Tank Company, 330th Infantry,
8Thunderbolt Division of the U.S. Army during World War II,
9where he was involved in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle
10of the Bulge, with one and a half years of combat; he married
11Ruby Phyllis Francis on October 5, 1946, and they resided in
12Jacksonville for most of their lives before she preceded him
13in death on August 14, 2016; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ed Brummett made his living as an Over the Road
15(OTR) semi truck driver; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was preceded in death by his wife of
1769 years, Ruby Phyllis, and his siblings, Francis Loomis,
18Margaret Brummett, Nola Dehlin, John Brummett, and Wendell
19Brummett; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was the father of Janet Townslay
21(Bill), Bob Brummett (Karrie), Tammy Whewell (David Wiswell),

1and Cathy Wilson (Kenny); the grandfather of Tonya Pinkerton,
2Terri Reszka, Jeff Brummett, Alexis Brummett, Casey
3Fallgatter, TJ Smith, Josh Roach, Zach Roach, Justin Wilson,
4and Cole Wilson; and the great-grandfather of Max Pinkerton,
5Levi Pinkerton, Carter Pinkerton, Quentin Meyer, Mia Reszka,
6Declan Brummett, Delaney Brummett, Bohannon Fallgatter, Graham
7Smith, Westin Roach, Hayden Roach, Gunner Roach, Maverick
8Roach, Hunter Six, Alexia Wilson, and Dylann Hayes; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Clarence Edward "Ed" Brummett and extend our sincere
13condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ed Brummett as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
