SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Earl W. Schwabe of Moline, who passed
4away on April 29, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe was born to Earl and Dolly
6(Galbraith) Schwabe in Thompsonville on October 5, 1935; he
7served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Karen
8J. in Moline on December 30, 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe was first employed as the
10superintendent of Goetz Construction for 30 years, retiring in
111992; later, he and his wife owned and operated Sunshine
12Luxury Tours and enjoyed taking people on great tours for 25
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe committed to his faith as a young
15teenager and lived a life of integrity and service to others;
16he was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island,
17where he served as a Sunday School teacher for the boys' class,
18and was a deacon at the former Moline Gospel Temple for 30
19years; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe loved to golf and fish; above all,
21he loved his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe was preceded in death by his
2parents; his brother, Gordon; and his sisters, Sadie Schwabe,
3Wanda Schwabe, and Jean Carter; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe is survived by his wife, Karen; his
5children, Terry (Jackie) Schwabe, Steve Schwabe, and Susan
6(Kyle) Sebben; his four grandchildren, Emme Schwabe, Noah
7Sebben, Logan Sebben, and T.J. Schwabe; and his brother, Jack
8(Anna Fae) Schwabe; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Earl W. Schwabe and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Earl Schwabe as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
