SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lyle E. Lohse of Silvis, who passed away on April 11, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse was born to Elmer and Marie (Thee) Lohse in Jackson, Minnesota on May 1, 1933; he graduated from United Township High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; he married Patricia Bruegger in Silvis on December 3, 1955; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse worked as a grocery foreman at Eagle's Warehouse for 37 years; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse served as a Silvis alderman for 12 years before he became mayor of Silvis in 1997; he served the city until 2009; he was instrumental in bringing the TPC Deere Run to Silvis; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse also served on the Silvis School Board and the Silvis Park Board; he was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Silvis; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse was preceded in death by his wife and his four brothers; and

WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse is survived by his sons, Daniel Lohse and Richard (Maria) Lohse; his grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Lohse and Katharine (Nile) Lohse; his great-grandchildren, Vivien Lohse and Eliza Lohse; and his brother, Don (Sue) Lohse; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lyle E. Lohse and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lyle Lohse as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
