SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of David S. "Dave" Joseph of East Peoria,
4who passed away on April 23, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dave Joseph was born to Mike and Betty (Tamer)
6Joseph on June 21, 1943; he was raised on the south side of
7Peoria, where he worked in his parents' small grocery store;
8he attended the Spalding Institute in Peoria; he graduated
9from Bradley University in Peoria, where he was member of
10Theta Xi Fraternity and formed many lifetime friendships; he
11married Sharyn L. Allen in Chicago on August 25, 1968; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dave Joseph pursued a career in real estate; he
13first worked for a leading Chicago commercial real estate
14firm, Baird and Warner; his career eventually brought him back
15to Peoria, where he worked for Commercial National Realty
16before starting his own firm, David Joseph Realtors
17Developers; his company evolved over the years, eventually
18becoming what is known today as The D. Joseph Companies, which
19has developed or currently owns numerous shopping centers,
20office complexes, medical facilities, and restaurants
21throughout Central Illinois and the United States; he was a
22developer who was ahead of his time and contributed much to the
23growth of Peoria; and

1    WHEREAS, Dave Joseph was deeply committed to his faith; he
2was a founding and faithful member of St. Sharbel Catholic
3Maronite Church in Peoria; he was granted the Pontifical Honor
4of Knight St. Gregory the Great by His Holiness Pope John Paul
5II on April 23, 1994, recognizing his kindness, his generosity
6to his church, and his caring for his community and fellow man;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dave Joseph lived a quiet life of dedication and
9unconditional love for his family; his life was filled with
10love, success, and many good deeds; he will be remembered for
11being a good man; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dave Joseph was preceded in death by his parents
13and his brother, Leon; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Dave Joseph is survived by his wife of 53 years,
15Sharyn; his children, David II (Tressa), Bill (Shelly), Dan
16(Kelly), Bryan (Olivia), Denise (John) Navetta, and Brad
17(Sheena); his 22 grandchildren, Connor, Spencer, Alyssa,
18Christian, David III, Zachary, Natalie, Carmen, Charlie,
19Maria, Ashley, Blake, Joey, Katie, Annabelle, Brianna, Jack,
20Gianna, Faith, Johnny, Molly, and Jude; and his brother,
21Maurice Joseph; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3David S. "Dave" Joseph and extend our sincere condolences to
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Dave Joseph as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
