SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
    Authorizes the Director of the Department of Natural Resources to deliver a quitclaim deed for 4 properties at the Bishop Hill Historic Site for $1, subject to specified conditions. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning property.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Director of the Department of Natural
5Resources, on behalf of the State of Illinois, is authorized
6to execute and deliver to the Bishop Hill Heritage Association
7a quitclaim deed for 4 properties at the Bishop Hill Historic
8Site, including Colony Church, the Bjorklund Hotel, the Ox
9Boy's Dormitory, and the 1849 Colony Park, for and in
10consideration of $1.
 
11    Section 10.
12    (a) Upon the payment of the sum of $1 to the State of
13Illinois, and subject to the conditions set forth in
14subsection (b), the Director of the Department of Natural
15Resources, on behalf of the State of Illinois and the
16Department of Natural Resources, shall convey by quitclaim
17deed all right, title, and interest of the State of Illinois
18and the Department of Natural Resources in and to the
19properties listed in Section 5 to the Bishop Hill Heritage
20Association.
21    (b) The conveyance of real property authorized by Section
225 shall be made subject to existing public utilities, existing
23public roads, and any and all reservations, easements,

1encumbrances, covenants, and restrictions of record.
2    (c) The quitclaim deed to the Bishop Hill Heritage
3Association shall state on its face and be subject to the
4conditions that the properties shall be used by the Bishop
5Hill Heritage Association for the remodeling and renovation of
6the properties to keep with the historic nature of the Bishop
7Hill Historic Site in consultation with the Department of
8Natural Resources and that if the Bishop Hill Historic Site
9ceases to exist, if the properties are used for any purposes
10other than the remodeling and renovation of the properties to
11keep with the historic nature of the Bishop Hill Historic
12Site, or if an attempt is made to sell the properties, then
13title shall revert without further action to the State of
14Illinois.
 
15    Section 15. The Director of the Department of Natural
16Resources shall prepare one or more quitclaim deeds to convey
17the properties. The Director may also record a certified copy
18of this Act. Each quitclaim deed shall reference this Act and
19contain the reversionary language from subsection (c) of
20Section 10. All documents of conveyance shall be recorded in
21the county in which the land is located.
 
22    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
23becoming law.
