SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
210 ILCS 125/13  from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1213

    Amends the Swimming Facility Act. In provisions regarding rules, provides that seasonal events of religious institutions are exempt from rules adopted by the Department of Public Health requiring the installation of permanent structures. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Swimming Facility Act is amended by
5changing Section 13 as follows:
 
6    (210 ILCS 125/13)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1213)
7    Sec. 13. Rules.
8    (a) The Department shall promulgate, publish, adopt and
9amend such rules as may be necessary for the proper
10enforcement of this Act, to protect the health and safety of
11the public using swimming facilities and their appurtenances,
12and may, when necessary, utilize the services of any other
13state agencies to assist in carrying out the purposes of this
14Act. These rules shall include but are not limited to design
15criteria for swimming facility areas and bather preparation
16facilities, standards relating to sanitation, cleanliness,
17plumbing, water supply, sewage and solid waste disposal,
18design and construction of all equipment, buildings, rodent
19and insect control, communicable disease control, safety and
20sanitation of appurtenant swimming facilities. The rules must
21include provisions for the prevention of bather entrapment or
22entanglement at new and existing swimming facilities. Bather
23preparation facilities consisting of dressing room space,

1toilets and showers shall be available for use of patrons of
2swimming facilities, except as provided by Department rules.
3    (b) Seasonal events of religious institutions are exempt
4from rules adopted by the Department under subsection (a)
5requiring the installation of permanent structures.

7    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
8becoming law.
