HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Martin; and

WHEREAS, Richard Martin began his career with the Murphysboro Fire Department on February 1, 1984; and

WHEREAS, Richard Martin retired from the Murphysboro Fire Department after 32 years of service on February 6, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Richard Martin became the legislative representative of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois (AFFI) Southern District in 2005, and he served in that position with pride until June 2022; and

WHEREAS, Richard Martin will be remembered for his lifetime of dedicated service to the citizens of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Richard Martin was the proud father of one daughter, Olivia, and two sons, Eli (Karyn) and Zeke; the proud grandfather of Gunner, Nolan, and Carter; and the longtime partner of Darcy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard Martin and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Martin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
