HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Village
4President Louis E. French of Holiday Hills, who passed away on
5July 31, 2022; and
 
6    WHEREAS, President French was born in Elmhurst on April
723, 1958; he was the son of Louis French and Alberta
8(Scaglione) French and the stepson of William Meyer; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Prior to serving the Village of Holiday Hills,
10President French was a firefighter, paramedic, and rescue
11diver for Nunda Township and the Fox Lake Fire Protection
12District; and
 
13    WHEREAS, President French was serving in his second term
14as president of the Village of Holiday Hills at the time of his
15passing; prior to being elected president, he served as
16village trustee; during his tenure, he was noted for his
17commitment and dedication to the village and the community;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, President French was affectionately known as "Big
20Lou", "Lou", and "Louie"; he deeply loved his family; he
21enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing his guitars, and spoiling

1his dogs; he will be remembered for his larger-than-life
2personality, his energy, and his good heart; and
 
3    WHEREAS, President French was preceded in death by his
4parents and stepfather; and
 
5    WHEREAS, President French is survived by three daughters,
6one son, six grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers, 18
7nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and
8friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Louis E. French and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of President French as an expression
16of our deepest sympathy.
