HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Fire Chief Dennis
4Litwiler on the occasion of his retirement from the Aledo Fire
5Protection District; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Litwiler joined the Aledo Fire Protection
7District on February 1, 1978; he was appointed fire chief on
8December 4, 2001; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Chief Litwiler held several officer positions in
10the Aledo Fire Protection District prior to his appointment to
11fire chief in 2001, including serving as a member on the
12Mississippi Valley Firefighters Association Board of Directors
13and the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) 39 Board, covering
14Lower Rock Island County, Henry County, and Mercer County; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Chief Litwiler was a 20-year member of the
16Illinois Fire Chiefs Association; he was also involved locally
17in the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) for the
18Mercer County Emergency Management Agency; he adopted the
19Everyone Goes Home Life Safety Initiatives by the National
20Fallen Firefighters Foundation, which strives to prevent
21firefighter line-of-duty deaths or injuries; and

1    WHEREAS, Chief Litwiler's primary concerns were always for
2the safety of his firefighters and for protecting the public
3from the dangers of fire; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we congratulate Fire Chief Dennis Litwiler on his retirement
7from the Aledo Fire Protection District, and we commend his
8lifetime of service to the community of Aledo and the State of
9Illinois; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
11presented to Chief Dennis Litwiler and the Aledo Fire
12Protection District as an expression of our esteem and
13respect.
