HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
3HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
4the Task Force on Foster Youth Transitioning Out of Care is
5hereby created; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That the Task Force is charged with the task of
7investigating the decline in foster youth living successful
8lives after transitioning out of care and with developing
9recommendations for DCFS on how to improve the transition for
10people leaving foster care, as well as a time frame for DCFS to
11implement these recommendations; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall consist of the
13following 10 members, who shall serve without compensation:
14        (1) The Director of DCFS or his or her designee, who
15    shall serve as Chair of the Task Force;
16        (2) The Chairman of the Office of the State Appellate
17    Defender Board of Commissioners or his or her designee;
18        (3) Two previous foster children who have transitioned
19    out of care appointed by the Governor;
20        (4) Three members of the Illinois House of
21    Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House; and
22        (5) Three members of the Illinois House of
23    Representatives appointed by the House Minority Leader;

1    and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That the Department of Children and Family
3Services shall provide administrative support for the Task
4Force; and be it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall meet once a month
6following the appointment of the members and shall continue to
7meet once a month for the duration of the 102nd General
8Assembly; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall submit its final
10report no later than the final day of the 102nd General
11Assembly and is dissolved upon the filing.
