HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Duffy Jack Karstrom on the occasion of achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout on December 5, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom is a member of Boy Scout Troop 342 of Homewood; and

WHEREAS, As a young boy, Duffy Karstrom became involved with Wreaths Across America; he was dedicated to seeing that those who have sacrificed for our nation be remembered and honored not only on Memorial Day but also during the holidays; he has continued his commitment to the members of our armed forces; and

WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom was enrolled in both the engineering curriculum and baccalaureate curriculum while attending Homewood Flossmoor High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the high school soccer team while remaining an active member of both his church and Boy Scout Troop; he has also published two children's books; and

WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom has become a fine young man who is kind, trustworthy, creative, dedicated, curious, passionate, driven, and intelligent; he is a natural leader of his peers and a very effective mentor to younger children, and he embodies the Boy Scout Oath; and

WHEREAS, Duffy Karstrom is a resident of Flossmoor and is currently attending Michigan Technological University; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Duffy Jack Karstrom on achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Duffy Karstrom as an expression of our esteem and respect.
