HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to commend Village of Lake Bluff
4President Kathleen O'Hara for her lifetime of public service;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, President O'Hara was born in Charlotte, North
7Carolina, but moved to Lincolnshire when she was 17; she
8received her Bachelor of Science in History from Illinois
9State University, where she studied history and political
10science; she earned her Master of Science in Educational
11Leadership and Administration from Northern Illinois
12University; and
 
13    WHEREAS, President O'Hara taught Social Studies to the
14youth of Lake Bluff Middle School for 19 years; she then served
15as the principal of Lake Bluff Middle School for an additional
1617 years before retiring in 2005; and
 
17    WHEREAS, President O'Hara continued to serve her community
18as a Village of Lake Bluff Trustee from 2007 to 2013; she then
19served as Village of Lake Bluff President from 2013 to 2021;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, President O'Hara further serves her community as

1co-founder of the Lake Bluff History Museum and as a member of
2the Lake Bluff School Caucus; and
 
3    WHEREAS, President O'Hara has always prioritized
4preserving the local history of the Lake Bluff community and
5has co-authored two books on Lake Bluff; and
 
6    WHEREAS, President O'Hara mentored many local elected
7officials and oversaw a period of improvements to the
8infrastructure, beautification, and public safety of the
9Village of Lake Bluff; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we commend Village of Lake Bluff President Kathleen O'Hara for
13her lifetime of public service and thank her for her
14dedication to the Village of Lake Bluff; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to President O'Hara as an expression of our esteem
17and respect.
