HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Deputy Fire Chief Todd Turner on his retirement on July 30, 2021 after over 40 years of faithful service with the Sycamore Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner started fighting fires as a part-time firefighter in 1980, over four decades ago; and

WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner received a full-time appointment to the Sycamore Fire Department after earning his fire officer certification and emergency medical technician license; and

WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner continued to earn further fire officer certifications and emergency medical technician training to the level of paramedic; and

WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner served as a fire lieutenant, an assistant fire chief, and a deputy fire chief during his career; and

WHEREAS, Deputy Fire Chief Turner and his wife Melissa have two children, Sari and Jacob, who are both career firefighters like their father; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Deputy Fire Chief Todd Turner and his family on his retirement and thank him for his over 40 years of service and dedication to the City of Sycamore and the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Deputy Fire Chief Turner and the Sycamore Fire Department as an expression of our esteem and respect.
