HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, AMBUCS is a national nonprofit charitable organization with a diverse membership comprised of local civic clubs located throughout the United States, where members are dedicated to inspiring mobility and independence for people with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, AMBUCS has 14 chapters located in the State of Illinois and devoted to the mission of National AMBUCS, which are the Cornbelt Bloomington AMBUCS, the Champaign-Urbana AMBUCS, the Danville AMBUCS, the Decatur-Lincolnland AMBUCS, the Jacksonville AMBUCS, the Pekin AMBUCS, the Rock River AMBUCS, the Springfield AMBUCS, the Sullivan AMBUCS, the Windy City AMBUCS, the I-80 Ottawa AMBUCS, the Greater Champaign County AMBUCS, the Grundy Area AMBUCS, and the South Eastern AMBUCS; and

WHEREAS, AMBUCS has 501 members in the State of Illinois and 254 members in Springfield; and

WHEREAS, AMBUCS chapters and members throughout the State of Illinois annually contribute thousands of hours of community service and hundreds of thousands of dollars of monetary gifts toward providing Amtrykes to disabled children, endowing scholarships for therapy students, building ramps for disabled persons, and numerous other deserving local and national projects; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare the month of April 2021 as AMBUCS Appreciation Month in the State of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we recognize the accomplishments, unequaled charitable giving, and selfless contributions of AMBUCS chapters and members throughout the State.
