HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association on the occasion of its 20th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association was organized by several members of the Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce and local residents to provide a shared vision of the neighborhood and move it into the 21st century; and

WHEREAS, The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association has served an important civic role, keeping residents informed about local issues, supporting local businesses, and driving conversation about the community; and

WHEREAS, Efforts from the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association to preserve local history proved so successful that the initiative was expanded to other area neighborhoods and helped lead to the creation of the Northwest Chicago Historical Society; and

WHEREAS, Since 2011, the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association has helped organize a popular community farmers market that brings neighbors and local businesses together; and

WHEREAS, The Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association is positioned to continue its integral community role in ensuring Jefferson Park is a thriving community that residents love to call home; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association on its 20th anniversary and wish it many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we thank the dedicated members of the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association for their tireless efforts in making their community a better place to live; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Jefferson Park Neighborhood Association.
