SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
725 ILCS 5/110-19 new

    Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Provides that the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and the Illinois Sentencing Policy Advisory Council shall create a statewide data collection system to collect data on pretrial practices and the bail system in Illinois. Provides that the data collection system shall include the creation of a statewide court database and a statewide agreement on data metrics. Provides that the data collection system shall enable data sharing among the Illinois counties and statewide. Provides that each circuit court shall participate in the data collection system.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is
5amended by adding Section 110-19 as follows:
 
6    (725 ILCS 5/110-19 new)
7    Sec. 110-19. Statewide data collection system.
8    (a) The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts and
9the Illinois Sentencing Policy Advisory Council shall create a
10statewide data collection system to collect data on pretrial
11practices and the bail system in Illinois.
12    (b) The data collection system shall include the creation
13of a statewide court database and a statewide agreement on
14data metrics.
15    (c) The data collection system shall enable data sharing
16among the Illinois counties and statewide.
17    (d) Each circuit court shall participate in the data
18collection system.
