SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jimmy L. Walker of Pekin, who passed away on January 29, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Walker was born to Donald and Mable (Custer) Walker in Murrayville on August 16, 1934; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Norma Spencer in Manchester on November 29, 1952; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Walker worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 20 years, retiring in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Walker was a member of the American Legion William Schaefer Post #44; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Walker enjoyed hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Walker was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Zane Walker; and his sister, Mary Ruby; and

WHEREAS, Jimmy Walker is survived by his wife; his sons, Steven L. Walker and Phillip K. Walker; his brother, Michael (Carol) Walker; his grandchildren, Chad M. Walker, Jayme Walker, and Jennifer Walker; his great-grandchildren, Shalee, Chance, Kylie, Becca, and Jaron; and his great-great-grandchildren, Willow, Triton, and Lucian; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jimmy L. Walker and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jimmy Walker as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
