SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to congratulate the Onarga Music Club on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club was founded by 13 women from the Onarga area in 1924, and the organization has continued every year since then; and

WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club's original purpose was to develop the musical talents of its members and to stimulate musical culture in the community; and

WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club members continue its purpose today through sharing their love of music at nursing homes, schools, churches, and community events, encouraging children to participate in school music programs, and welcoming new members who share their love of music; and

WHEREAS, The Onarga Music Club will celebrate its 100th anniversary in January 2024; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Onarga Music Club on achieving its 100th anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Onarga Music Club as an expression of our esteem and respect.
