SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John H. Wochner of East Moline, who
4passed away on September 16, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Wochner was born in Davenport, Iowa to James
6and Agnes Stohlmeyer Wochner on November 19, 1944; he served
7in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married Jacqueline
8"Jackie" Long in Milan on July 17, 1965; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Wochner was employed at Farmall and then
10with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 45 years; he retired
11in 2006; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Wochner was an avid bowler, who was inducted
13into the Hall of Fame and served as a past president of the
14East Moline Bowling Association (United States Bowling
15Congress); he enjoyed NASCAR and QC Mallards/QC Storm Hockey;
16in earlier years, he was a member of the former Moline Moose
17Lodge; he was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1309; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Wochner was preceded in death by his parents
19and his sister, JoAnn Diehl; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Wochner is survived by his wife, Jackie; his

1sons, Shane and Shawn (Christie) Wochner; his granddaughter,
2Emma Wochner; his niece, Ann Horton; and his special friends,
3Charlie and Diane Roth and Jim and Patti Hoogerwerf;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7John H. Wochner and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of John Wochner as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
