SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Willis "Si" Mason of Lewistown, who passed away on June 25, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Willis Mason was born to Willis and Helen Mason on February 4, 1937; he graduated from Lewistown High School and spent four years in the U.S. Air Force before returning to live on his family farm; he married Judith Ann "Judy" Cluney in 1963; and

WHEREAS, Willis Mason worked at Navistar/International Harvester for 40 years, retiring in 2004; and

WHEREAS, Willis Mason enjoyed farming, beekeeping, going to auctions and backyard sales, watching cowboy movies, playing with his dogs, and visiting with his friends; he was an outgoing, happy person who enjoyed his life fully; and

WHEREAS, Willis Mason was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Betty Brooks and JoAnn Putman; and

WHEREAS, Willis Mason is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Judy; his daughters, Helen and Linda Mason; his grandchildren, Sam and Claire Mason; and his twin sister, Dixie Henderson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Willis "Si" Mason and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Willis Mason as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
