SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate Benjamin David "Ben" Jonen on the occasion of
4achieving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Eagle Scout is the highest award the National
6Council of the Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ben Jonen was born to David and Dawn DeBlois
9Jonen in Hanover Park; he attended Lincoln Prairie School and
10graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in 2023; during
11high school, he participated in the school band, played on the
12volleyball team, and was a member of the National Honor
13Society; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ben Jonen's Eagle Scout project involved the
15renovation and reconstruction of the maintenance shed at
16Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Hoffman Estates; after
17receiving approval from church leadership, he helped raise the
18funds needed for the renovation and reconstruction himself; he
19then developed the work schedule, made lists of materials and
20supplies required, and supervised the execution of the
21project; and

1    WHEREAS, Ben Jonen plans to attend Loyola University in
2Chicago with a focus on environment studies; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate
5Benjamin David "Ben" Jonen on achieving the coveted rank of
6Eagle Scout, and we wish him continued success in the future;
7and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Ben Jonen as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
