SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia Ann "Pat" Graves of Springfield, who passed away on May 6, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Pat Graves was born to Paul and Nancy Mallady in Mattoon on August 11, 1947; she grew up in Arcola and moved to Springfield, where she married Gary Graves at Clear Lake Church of Christ in Springfield on August 31, 1968; and

WHEREAS, Pat Graves worked for the State of Illinois for more than 35 years, retiring in 2002; and

WHEREAS, Pat Graves was a member of Westside Christian Church, where she enjoyed being a part of the church choir and attending TNT Sunday school; she loved her family dearly and was deeply committed to her faith; and

WHEREAS, Pat Graves was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Mallady; and

WHEREAS, Pat Graves is survived by her husband; her daughters, Dawn (John) Hauer and Jennifer Graves (Brian Sissel); her grandchildren, Zachary Graves (fiancée, Hannah), Jonathon (Taylor) Hauer, Laura Hauer, Lindsey (Bailey) Swift, and Alexa Joseph; her great-grandchildren, Kai Graves, Mason Hauer, and Hudson Hauer; her sister, Beverly (Dan) Bell; her brother, Michael Mallady; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Patricia Ann "Pat" Graves and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Pat Graves as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
