SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 490/149 new

    Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Designates the month of May of each year as Jewish-American Heritage Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to celebrate the vitality and importance of Jewish-American citizens whose achievements and contributions have strengthened and enriched American culture, commerce, governance, education, and all aspects of community life in the United States.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
5adding Section 149 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 490/149 new)
7    Sec. 149. Jewish-American Heritage Month. The month of May
8of each year is designated as Jewish-American Heritage Month
9to be observed throughout the State as a month to celebrate the
10vitality and importance of Jewish-American citizens whose
11achievements and contributions have strengthened and enriched
12American culture, commerce, governance, education, and all
13aspects of community life in the United States.
