SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marillyn Rosalie (Wright) Wilson of Milan, who passed away on October 26, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson was born on September 30, 1922; she graduated from Moline High School in 1940; after high school, she enlisted in the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) of the U.S. Navy, where she served for 18 months while stationed in Washington D.C.; she married Gerald "Gay" Wilson on July 20, 1946, and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2004; and

WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson worked as a secretary for several companies, retiring from the Q.C. Electrical Contractors Association; and

WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson was a member of the Pythian Sisters and Trinity United Methodist Church of Milan; and

WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson's greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, and they recently celebrated her 100th birthday; she also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years; her parents, Cecil and Cora Wright; her sisters, Alyce Epperson and Marlene Souder; and her step-granddaughter, Crystal Newman; and

WHEREAS, Marillyn Wilson is survived by her son, Timothy (Theresa) Wilson; her daughters, Lucinda (Robert) Willhite and Jerilyn (Ron) Johnson; her grandchildren, Tyler (Haley) Willhite, Grady Johnson, and Tessa (Alex) Karwath; her step-granddaughter, Emerald Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Tarique Newman and Naseem Newman; and her numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marillyn Rosalie (Wright) Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marillyn Wilson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
